First and foremost: thank you to everyone who made 2020 a successful year for Gluent. It goes without saying that 2020 was filled with unexpected events and situations, and we are so happy to enter 2021 with all of its new opportunities. A lot happened at Gluent in this crazy year, so we want to take this time to let you in on an overview of our 2020 happenings.
GDP 4.0 gives customers a faster, less risky approach for migrating large Oracle database workloads to Google BigQuery without rewriting their applications.
With this release, Gluent has enabled incremental offload capabilities for non-partitioned Oracle tables. Additionally, Gluent has further invested in the partnership with Cloudera to certify support for their most recent release of CDP.
Conductor for Gluent makes managing offloads with GDP easier. Tasks like offload execution, monitoring and partition dropping are done through a single UI.
Performance is a key focus of release 3.2 of the Gluent Data Platform (GDP) software suite. Offload and Smart Connector were enhanced to reduce the overall time, as well as, CPU consumption of offloads and hybrid queries. Additionally, Gluent has invested in additional support for our cloud integrations, including Cloudera and Microsoft Azure Cloud Storage.
Gluent continues to enhance the Gluent Data Platform products with each release. And with version 3.1, we bring additional ease of use to the data management tools. Gartner’s report, released November 16, 2018, outlines the data virtualization marketplace, states their key findings and recommendations, analyzes market direction and identifies the key players.
Providing a faster route to cloud integration and a higher level of self-sufficiency, Gluent’s 3.0 improves customer flexibility with support for two of Amazon’s premier cloud services, Amazon EMR and Amazon S3.
GDP 2.11.0 integrated our Offload and Present functionality with Cloudera Navigator, automating the registration and population of relational database metadata into the Navigator repository. This new feature allows for data discovery and lineage of Gluent offloaded or presented objects.

Gluent is amongt the 15 vendors that “help analysts, data scientists and everyday information workers gain access to data and derive insights that can provide a competitive edge.”
