Gluent Data Platform included in 2018 Gartner Market Guide for Data Virtualization

Gluent Inc. announces that its data virtualization software (Gluent Data Platform) has once again been included in Gartner’s 2018 “Market Guide for Data Virtualization” report.

Gartner’s report, released November 16, 2018, outlines the data virtualization marketplace, states their key findings and recommendations, analyzes market direction and identifies the key players.

The report concludes that the entire field of data virtualization is maturing, offering more options, higher performance and better security.

Data virtualization is now a mature data integration style, supporting key operational and analytics use cases”, Gartner states.

The report goes on to say that more than 35% of the surveyed organizations make extensive use of it in production-level deployments, with an estimated 60% of all organizations on track to implement some sort data virtualization by 2022.

Gluent’s software addresses a company’s need to continue to leverage their existing systems while at the same time taking advantage of new less costly and more scalable, open data format systems such as Hadoop. Gluent Data Platform allows companies to seamlessly offload data from traditionally expensive and closed RDBMS systems to more cost-effective, scalable and open platforms on-premises or in the cloud.

With Gluent, legacy systems are able to maintain transparent access to any data that has been offloaded. Data that exists in Hadoop can also be presented to other RDBMS systems without the need for costly ETL development, and new modern analytics tools can access the data directly from Hadoop.

Gluent has helped companies implement business-altering changes enabling them to do what was previously considered impossible.
